Stillwater Dwellings home interior

Ch-Ch-Changes

It’s been a bit since I’ve given an update on the project, but that’s mostly due to a busy work and travel schedule. Since being so awesomely happy with the initial plans presentation, I’ve gone back and forth with Andrew at Stillwater working through some details on the second level and the few minor tweaks on the main level. First up, here’s the completed second level…

This will essentially be a wood shop (the left large space) and a much smaller home gym (right). The extra time spent on this level was to maximize the shop space but still have separate entrances to each off the stairs (I don’t want to have to go through one to get to the other), and to just make sure the space works for what I have in my head with respect to the layout of tools and equipment.

Below are some comparisons between where we were in the first set (left) and where we ended up in select areas of the living space (right):

The master bath had the most changes. I’m not a huge fan of giant walk-in showers (left) as a simple stall is fine, and I really wanted a bathtub. The right side shows where we ended up. I really like the light corner where the tub was added and the overall the flow works really great for me.

For the smaller bedroom/office, I really wanted to maximize wall space by playing with the closet, and I also wanted a hallway closet for outdoor/riding gear and cleaning storage (like a vacuum). Again, we ended up in a really nice place (right)

Lastly, the kitchen was reconfigured slightly. The right image shows the corner now having usable counter space and the top area was redone based on what I’m looking at for appliances.

So from my standpoint, the plans are locked. Unless engineering or the various approval and permitting boards come back with requested changes, I now have a great vision of how my home will layout.
